Attaching Google Docs

Using CloudExtend Google Drive, you can seamlessly attach existing and new documents from Google Drive to the following NetSuite records:

  • Contact
  • Customer
  • Customer Payment
  • Employee
  • Estimate
  • Invoice
  • Job
  • Lead
  • Opportunity
  • Partner
  • Prospect
  • Return Authorization
  • Sales Order
  • Support Case
  • Vendor
  • Cash Refund
  • Cash Sale
  • Check
  • Credit Memo
  • Customer Refund
  • Customer Deposit
  • Expense Report
  • Item Receipt
  • Purchase Order
  • Transfer Order
  • Vendor Bill
  • Vendor Credit
  • Vendor Payment
  • Vendor Return Authorization

To attach an existing document to a record:

  1. Navigate to the record you want to attach the document to under the Lists menu.
  2. Click the Google Drive subtab.
  3. Click Attach.
  4. The Google Drive Picker window opens, type a search term for your document in the Search box or simply select a file from your Drive. The search will perform a type-ahead search of both title and metadata within your available Google Docs.
  5. Click the document you would like to attach. The document now appears in the Google Doc subtab.

To create and attach a new document:

  1. Navigate to the record you want to attach the document to under the Lists menu.
  2. Click the Google Drive subtab.
  3. Click Attach File(s). Select New->Document_Type (Docs, Slides, Sheets) from the Google Drive Picker window.
  4. In the Add New File window, enter the folder and the file name you want to create in Google Drive. 
  5. In the File Name field, enter a name for your new document.
  6. Click Create.

The new document now appears in the Google Drive subtab. Click the name of the document to open it in Google Drive for editing.

To upload and attach a document:

  1. Navigate to the record you want to attach the document to under the Lists menu.
  2. Click the Google Drive subtab.
  3. Click Attach File(s).
  4. Click Upload
  5. Drag files from your computer to this window or click on ‘Select files from your computer’
  6. Select the file you want to upload. You can select multiple files to queue for uploading.
  7. When you have finished selecting files, click Upload.

Once all of the files have finished uploading, they appear on the Google Drive subtab.
