Does CloudExtend Support Single Sign-on(SSO) ?

Single sign-on (SSO) allows users to go directly from an external user-authenticating application to NetSuite without having to separately log into NetSuite. This feature allows a one-way trust relationship to be established between the external application and NetSuite, so that after users present login credentials to the external application, they can gain access to NetSuite as well.

Currently CloudExtend does not support login using SSO as it more of a hybrid user interface/machine to machine communications tool allowing for data to flow in the foreground and background. We are currently working to enhance the login process with Token Based Authentication (TBA)and this capability will be rolled out to Enterprise Edition customers soon. With TBA, enterprise licensed users will no longer be required to use their credentials to connect their NetSuite Account with CloudExtend.


Recommended Process

We recommend the following process which maintains the SSO (and prevents username/password from being used) for any user logging in to while also preserving the machine to machine communications required by CloudExtend by allowing the user to use standard credentials securely.

Clone the role your NetSuite user would normally login under.

Remove the Single Sign On Requirement

Check off ‘Web Services Only’

    We have been using CloudExend by logging into NetSuite using SAML as Google as the IdP. Up until CloudExtend updated to version 3.3.x, this had worked. I found this after searching to see why it wasn't working. This FAQ suggests SAML should not have worked for the last 3-4 months that we have been using SAML.

    Does CloudExtend work with SAML or not? With the update, my users are now having a ton of issues logging in, SAML or not, but it may be in part that we are logged into Netsuite through Google.
